During these cold winter months keeping warm is hard enough but when we and those around us are getting colds and flu it can be a difficult time of year to get through. Of course we can cuddle up with a blanket by the fire to keep back the cold but there’s still another kind of cold to worry about. So to help keep out all kinds of colds here are 3 drinks to help with keeping healthy during winter.
1. Lemon, Honey and Ginger
Putting these 3 ingredients together to fight flu is no secret but it is common for a reason and that is that they work! Each of the ingredients have individual health benefits however when put together with some hot water will be almost guaranteed to keep back the sniffles after you drink it. Simply boil the ginger with the lemon, let it cool, add honey and enjoy.
2. Milk and Turmeric
This drink is very simple but has many benefits including helping with indigestion as well as lowering blood sugar for those of us that need to keep an eye on that. For an extra boost you can also add honey and ginger but just be sure to drink it warm and enjoy your golden milk.
3. Salt and Ginger
Last but not least we have a sure fire way to battle a sore throat and I’m sure we have all heard of this one from our parents or teachers. Gargling salt at least 4 times a day will help relieve some of the pain from a sore throat but having it with some ginger in warm water will be sure to heal and protect your throat.
