No one looks forward to their period, and at other times, periods catch you unaware and unprepared but one of the best and easiest ways to better understand your body is to keep track of when it's due and make notes of your different PMS symptoms. This will help you keep track and notice any changes and what causes them.
These are HN9’s favourite period tracking Apps that are free and easy-to-use.
1. CLUE PERIOD & HEALTH TRACKER
This is a cool app because not only was is named the number 1 period app but it was created by gynaecologists (so it’s safe to say they know what they talking about.) Clue stands above the rest thanks to its sophisticated design.
Not only does it track your run-of-the-mill period data like; start and stop dates of your periods but it also keeps track of moods, period flows, symptoms and emotions. One of the best features is predicting your next period so you are never caught off guard. In other words, you'll get a really clear picture of how your body works, so you'll know right away if something is off.
Here's a fun fact: According to a recent Fibit survey, 80% of users don't know how many phases are in the menstrual cycle (four), and 70% can't identify the average length of a cycle (21-35 days)averaging at 28 days for most women.
To fix that, the popular fitness and sleep tracking app added female health tracking to their list. You can see where you are in your cycle, when your next period is predicted to start, and when you're ovulating. On the app, log additional details like flow intensity, types of discharge, PMS symptoms.
3. FLO PERIOD & OVULATION TRACKER
Flo (Aunty Flo.. Get it?) is a great period tracker app for those who want to choose what data gets thrown at them (and what doesn't). In its most basic version, you track your period start date and duration, and that's it.
When you're ready for more, you can start tracking symptoms, record your mood, and even schedule reminders so you don't forget to grab a box of tampons or pads. The insights section churns out information that helps you understand the details of your menstrual cycle — the more data you enter, the more customized the material becomes.
4. PERIOD TRACKER LITE

5. EVE PERIOD TRACKER
This app has a lot of cheeky features women will appreciate, daily "Cyclescope," which predicts symptoms and gives advice based on where you are in your cycle. Eve also identifies trends and patterns that are unique to your own body, and it can be synced with your phone’s Health Kit to give you a better overall picture of health.
6. PERIOD DIARY
With more than 30 PMS symptoms and 20 moods to choose from, this period tracker app wants you to get as specific as possible with how you're feeling at each phase of your cycle.
