Charl Smidt
Born on 22 November 1986, 21 year old Charl Smidt is an
Urban/R & B artist who resides in Ravensmead, Cape Town
- he attended local Ravensmead
Senior Secondary
School. Charl entered the music industry eight
years ago - at the age of 13 - and has already been involved in three groups,
one of which toured the USA
in 2004. Currently a solo artist, he plays the guitar and piano and writes his
own music. He counts performing at the opening of Parliament as his biggest gig
to date. Carl has also performed with Judith Sephuma. I am currently working on
an album, which will be released soon. His biggest musical influences are:
Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men, Neyo and Chris Brown but his aim is to create my own
unique sound in the South African music industry.
