Do you look at the glass as half full or half empty? Your outlook on life is important because it greatly affects outcomes in various experiences. Here are some words that optimists always use and words that they rarely use.
1. Do say: YES
An optimist rarely ever turns an opportunity down. They prefer to grab the bull by the horns and bravely take on a new challenge.
Don't say: NO
If there's one word that pessimists love the most it's the word 'no'. If you are offered a positive opportunity at school or given a new responsiblity on your sports team, take it! Don't be a fraid of failing and saying 'no' right off the bat.
2. Do say: CAN
Self-confidence is very important as it can change the way you view your impact on your surroundings. A common trait in optimist is the feeling of being in control. Optimist believes that they can shape their own future and therefore there is always hope for things to get better. If you believe you can do it, you definately will.
Don't say: WHATEVER
Pessimists often feel like they are in free fall. This can lead to negative thinking as you will start to think that no matter what you do, things will end up being bad. In turn, pessimists often end up not even trying.
3. Do say: OPTIONS
Optimists tend to be forward thinkers. They have a vision for their future and seek to reach the goals they set up for themselves. They also know the value of a plan A and a plan B. If one thing falls through, move on to the next.
Don't say: PROBLEMS
On the other hand, pessimists think very short-term and give up easily. They seek out the problems in plans and persuade themselves (and sometime those around them) to blow off the task they started.
