Aptly named, Alanfunk features a freshly unique and cleverly fusioned harmony of uplifting jive and soul that seems to effortlessly transcend all cultures and their preferred genre.  The band boasts home-grown talents such as Nhoza Sitsholwana and Ongx Mona on vocals, Geoff Adams on percussion (drums) and attitude, Nelson Malela on keys and inspiration,  lead by Steve Kramer on bass.DJ icons, HoneyB and Fletcher battled for the spotlight when they first shared the stage with debutants, Alanfunk at one of Alan’s house parties back in December 2005. This proved to be a stepping stone en route to such events as the Vodacom Jazz on the Rocks Festival, Barlycorn Festivals and the City of Cape Town Lights Festival, and it was just two years later when they released their much anticipated debut album in May 2007.  One of the bands accolades flaunts the theme song, “Do you believe in magic”, in association with the African Academy award winning Hollywood documentary in Nigeria .The band have since released the Fire Demo to wet our appetites in preparation for their second album which was released in June 2008.
