Michael Buble feverHolllllaaaaaa back Mzansi! Michael Buble couldn't have graced Cape Town with his presence at a better time this year, ringing in winter with a performance that left all concert goers feeling warm, fuzzy and tremendously touched. But first, let's give credit to the support act that blew us away with their accapella talent, Naturally 7. An American group that use no physical instruments but, create each and every sound needed for a band... With nothing but their voices. Phenomenal! Their performance has you gripped and hanging on their every move because you are glued in awe of their compositions.
Then... The man himself, Buble. From the get-go, he engaged with his audience. After his opening track, "Cry Me A River" he took the time to pick out a German fan who had banners and was there on behalf of a cancer association she represents. He silenced the crowd, and called her up for a hug, a kiss and to sign her banner. This pretty much set the tone for the rest of the show and how Michael would give his fans an abundance of interaction throughout. He walked off stage, roamed the arena and settled to perform a portion of his set at the back of the stadium with Naturally 7. The most humbling ending emerged. Michael ended off by losing the mic and simply saying goodbye, serenading us with nothing but his voice. I felt incredibly moved by that movement. He also left no "thank you" unturned. From students to far travellers who spent their "hard earned money" to see his show, gratitude was so tangible last night. This was the best "value for money" I have ever seen an artist give his fans. HANDS DOWN! Please see the gallery of photos that continue from this post... Much love 'n light,
